We're Never, Ever Getting Back Together: Ranking Taylor Swift's Boyfriend Timeline

It appears that Taylor Swift and the god of mischief Tom Hiddleston aren't loki-ng for love anymore, after they're spotted kissing near Swift's Rhode Island mansion.

I'm happy for them, and excited for the brilliant songs (perhaps inspired by her recent break-up?) she'll make hereafter. Aside from writing songs inspired by her own life, Swift is known for her super relatable songs about romance and break-ups, inspired by her remarkable back catalog of ex-beaus.

Here, in chronological order, is her long list of (high-profile) ex-lovers and the songs (presumably) written about them.

Joe Jonas (July - October 2008)

Songs: Forever & Always; Last Kiss

Joe Jonas broke up with Taylor Swift via a 27-second phone call! How rude.

Recently, supermodel Gigi Hadid and Demi Lovato broke up with their respective beaus as well, and they all dated Jonas in the past. Is this a Jonas jinx?

Lucas Till (March - April 2009)

Song: You Belong With Me (Taylor's music video love interest)

Till won her heart in the music video for 'You Belong With Me', but they only briefly tried dating. He spoke about it saying "it didn't work out" because he "really just liked her as a friend."

Taylor Lautner (August - December 2009)

Song: Back To December

Taylor Squared found each other on the set of Valentine's Day, and Lautner is one of the most memorable guys Taylor Swift ever dated. Our tween hearts were all rooting for them!

John Mayer (December 2009 - February 2010)

Songs: Dear John; I Knew You Were Trouble

Taylor Swift and John Mayer ended on a sour note, leaving her with a broken heart when she was 19. She made her heartbreak blatantly obvious with the lyrics of Dear John, aye?

Cory Monteith (April - May 2010)

The two neither confirmed nor denied they dated - but Monteith turned red when Ellen DeGeneres mentioned it.

Either way, the songs about what could have been are two of my favorites, so I'm thankful for the inspiration in the form of Cory.

Jake Gyllenhaal (October 2010 - January 2011)

Song: The Last Time

It was also rumored that most of the songs on her 'RED' album were about Jake Gyllenhaal. I briefly loathed him for breaking Taylor's heart, since they're both my favorites.

Conor Kennedy (July 2012 - October 2012)

Song: Begin Again

After moving on from the heartbreak caused by Jake Gyllenhaal, Swift found herself in the arms of Conor Kennedy, member of the famous Kennedy family.

Harry Styles (December 2012 - January 2013)

Songs: Out of The Woods ; Style (assumed)

Their line of work and the public scrutiny that comes with it is partly to blame for Taylor and Harry's short-lived and rocky romance.

Calvin Harris (March 2015 - June 2016)

Probably Taylor Swift's longest beau ever, we were over the moon every time the pair shared pics. They gave us #RelationshipGoals and made us believe in forever. After a year of dating, the two recently broke up, and now it appears that Calvin unfollowed Swift when photographs of her and Hiddleston surfaced. That, and he blocked a bunch of Swifties from following him too.

Our TayVin dreams are crushed - they'll likely never, ever get back together and that makes me sad. We'll probably know the details if she releases a new album, though.

Tom Hiddleston (June 2016 - ??)

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston appear to be dating and I wish them luck - especially against Hiddleston's army of fans.

They're not keeping it low-key, so I guess you could say she's up all night to get Loki.

We all know Taylor can make the bad guys good for a weekend, but I hope the new couple will be good for eternity. And if not, I just hope that unlike Taylor's other exes, this one won't be just another picture to burn.
