2019: My Year and My Plans for My Future and in the Music Industry

Instead of writing a lengthy social media post, I decided to write an article instead!

2018 was a year to remember. I had so many amazing opportunities offered to me, as well as some not so good times. But, since the year is over, it is time to move on and start new.

2019 is going to be a big year for me. I am planning on moving to a new state (TBD) and trying to excel my career in the music industry. Right now, the plan is to move to Nashville, TN unless something else comes up somewhere else. Sean and I will be moving hopefully around March! As of jobs or internships, I currently have a few leads on internships, but I am still on the lookout! I am extremely excited to take this next step with Sean and we are both excited to explore outside of the midwest as we both grow in the industry that we love!

I will also be starting the Master's in Entertainment Business program at Full Sail University in August! I am so excited to gain knowledge from the industry's best and to make so many new connections!

As for what I want to do in the future, I want to work in Artists and Repertoire (A&R for short). This involves scouting out talent and seeking out the development of the talent as they progress as well as helping the talent develop a brand for themselves. I have always had a keen interest in finding the best new bands and finding new music before anyone else. And after I went to a conference in Nashville in 2018, I knew this is what I wanted to do. Eventually, I would like to open my own business (part of which is underway right now).

Maze Music. Maze Music Management is my up and coming business in the works that will be dedicated to the management of bands and their brand development as well as an acting booking agency for them. The plan is to start out as an at home business with my partner and move forward as the business grows. We are starting out right now and are pumped about how the plan is moving along. So, if you're a band and you may be interested, please hit me up and let's talk!

I am so excited for 2019, words can't even describe. I am ready to grow as a person and experience new things. The support from my parents has been overwhelming as well as the support from those who are close to me.

My time at Iowa State was like most, full of ups and downs. I made some of the most amazing friends and gained so much knowledge from the Student Union Board and my supervisors. I was able to work with so many amazing artists and make some amazing connections throughout the music industry.

For now, I will be saving money to move to Nashville, and working two jobs. I will continue at First Fleet Concerts as an assistant in marketing in social media as well as the street team manager. I also have a second job at BAM Books in Ames where I will be working until we make the full move. The most amazing thing about this website is that you can tip me for my work and your views count towards my pay! I will be writing more of these throughout the year so be on the lookout for those!

2019 will be the year that I change as a person and really finish discovering myself. Until then, go check out my life on social media and give me a follow! Give me some of your favorite music suggestions or just reach out to become friends!
