Taylor Swift-Reputation Tour

I don't know if it's just me but I can never get enough of Taylor's speeches during her concert tours. She brings out a lot of great advice and so much that it needs to be shared with everyone who needs to hear it whether it be about speaking up after being sexually assaulted, surviving bullying, or realizing that people may or may not be happy even though they may look that way.

So last Saturday night happened in Minnesota and Taylor Swift had given another awesome speech before she had sung an older song that she had performed on her first album Tied Together With A Smile. This song was written after she had discovered that a close friend of hers had an eating disorder.

During her speech, Taylor had brought up a lot of great points that I wanted to be able to share with you today if you weren't there at the concert or had even heard about this.

"You can never judge what somebody else is going through, even if they seem like they have it all together..."

Appearances aren't everything.

She's right. Just because someone shows the appearance that they are happy and have it all together doesn't mean they truly are. Appearances aren't everything. Someone may look beautiful on the outside but on the inside, they may have problems and issues that look not so pretty to everyone else. You may look at someone on the outside and say, "Wow, I wish I was as healthy as they look," and realize later on that they may not be so healthy because they have physical or maybe some mental issues. We simply cannot judge people just by looking at them from the outside. We have to go deeper and know them from the very inside. We have to look at people's hearts, visions, and dreams. Never assume that every happy person you see is okay.

"There's so much pressure on everyone these days to have it all together..."

2018 Taylor Swift Reputation Tour

This is very true. There's honestly too much pressure out there no matter where you are and what you do and what path you follow. Media itself says in order to be beautiful or successful, you have to have a perfect body. You need to look totally flawless. Well, I'm sorry. The most beautiful looking person that you can think of has flaws and imperfections. We all do. Have you ever seen some of the prettiest girls without their makeup on? I have. Eventually, you will realize that nobody's perfect. Why does society place that upon ourselves? It's crazy. When a person sees someone they feel looks better than them on TV, the internet, or in a magazine, they all of the sudden feel that they aren't good enough. That is why you see people with eating disorders or some that spend all kinds of money on cosmetic surgery or wigs or makeup. They don't feel beautiful on the inside so they go all out in making sure they are as beautiful looking as possible on the outside. And it's not all about beauty either. Many have become depressed or have taken their life because they feel they don't live a perfect life like maybe somebody they see on TV or on the Web. I know I'm guilty of this. We always believe the grass is always greener on the other side but it's because we don't see the entire picture. If you have ever dreamed about being a celebrity, you desire to have the lifestyle they have but you don't realize there are some disadvantages to it as well like dealing constantly with the paparazzi and having their entire lives caught on film or social media. It seems like the media makes it where they can never be human thus you see all kinds of meltdowns happening like it did with Britney Spears, Justin Bieber or Charlie Sheen. (They're humans too!)

"Just try and be kind to yourself!"

Well said. It's so true. Be kind to yourself. There is someone or a lot of someone’s out there that are most likely going through the exact same thing that you are going through. Everyone and anyone can have a bad day or feel they aren't good enough. You just have to keep believing that you are no matter what. Don't allow anyone to tell you that you aren't enough because you are more than enough. The reason why there are people that bully others out there is that they are insecure about themselves. That's why they feel they have to bring other people down in order to make themselves feel better. Love and enjoy being you. Things will get better and whatever horrible thing you are going through will pass. Thanks Taylor Swift @taylorswift13 for that wonderful reminder!
