Artists/Bands with a Chilled Vibe

If you're a pop-rock/indie fan, I think you'll enjoy this and if you're not, I think you might change your mind.

Good music is a struggle to find today and since the amount of radio lovers is decreasing at an accelerating rate, quality music is very much needed.

I am not a big fan of rap music but I do enjoy Eminem (this only happens when my brother forces me to listen to his music and I try to figure out the hidden depth in his fast-paced lyrics). But my interest has only been limited to Eminem so far, I really dislike the new generation of rap that is emerging at a really fast rate.

So this is a list of bands and artists that I have developed a liking to in the past few months and I actually enjoy listening to them. Even though this list does not include many other famous bands/artists that many other music fans enjoy listening to, this is my music list which is obviously not limited to the bands/artists mentioned but since this is my very first music review or recommendation post, I would like to keep it short and musical (Haha..no? Okay moving on...).

1. Coldplay

This band was formed by lead singer Chris Martin in 1996 and has gained tremendous popularity around the globe. I have adored and loved almost every one of their songs, I personally would love an opportunity to go to one of their concerts. The band has given their listener's music ranging from upbeat to slow and heartfelt songs. The lyrics from their songs have meaning and are very much understandable. Below are some of my favorites from the band:

  • (Slow first) "The Scientist", "Yellow", "Fix you", "Magic", "Paradise", "Midnight", (Upbeat) "Viva La Vida", "Hymn for The Weekend", "Something Just Like This".

2. Foster The People

This American band formed in 2009 is of particular interest to me since their music is of a retro kind, which is why I like their music. The voice of the lead singer is somewhat dull but sort of catchy at the same time. The band overall has good music and I would recommend them:

  • "Sit Next to Me", "Pumped Up Kicks", "SHC", "Doing It for the Money".

3. Twenty-One Pilots

I'm sure many people know of this American Duo, famous for making slightly emo songs but nonetheless have gained popularity among teens. Their music has a happy yet sad kind of vibe but I would still recommend them.

  • "Heathens", "Ride", "Stressed Out", "Car Radio", "Migraine".

4. French Montana

If I'm being honest with this one, I would say that I have only heard one of his songs and I really liked it.

  • "Unforgettable"

5. The 1975

This English rock band is really one to listen to, they have catchy lyrics and a good beat to their songs as well. The band's slow songs really tend to tug at your heartstrings.

  • "Girls", "Somebody Else", "Robbers", "Settle Down", "The Sound", "Falling for You", "Heart Out".

6. Troye Sivan

Previously a YouTuber, most of his songs have been inspired from him coming out and accepting his sexuality and this is what he encourages others to do through his songs.

  • "Wild, Fools", "YOUTH", "for him.", "Talk Me Down", "Ease", "Happy Little Pill", "Strawberries", and "Cigarettes".

7. The Kooks

This English pop rock band has some proper rock vibes that radiate through their songs. This is another band that is not given as much attention and appreciation that their music deserves.

  • "Naive", "Bad Habit", "She Moves In Her Own Way".

8. The Revivalists

The reason why I like this band is that their songs give me a very nostalgic feeling. Some of their songs have a calm effect on them while others hit you in your feels.

  • "It Was a Sin", "Wish I Knew You", "Soul Fight".

9. The Neighbourhood (The NBHD)

This is my favorite band along with The 1975, maybe because they both have a similar kind of theme to their songs. The only difference being that The 1975 has more of a rock element to their music. The NBHD has really good music. Honestly, I love their songs. The voice of their lead singer is very attractive and sounds good to the ears.

  • "Sweater Weather" (song at the top), "Cry Baby", "Daddy Issues", "Scary Love", "Female Robbery", "Single".
