Being Smooth and Cool Through Music Was Amazing

Sometimes I wish I was as cool as Snoopy

Music is amazing, isn't it? You can experience so many emotions and moments with music, it's pretty crazy because there is a lot of music when you experience moments like when you like someone, a song may remind you of them or if you're in a good mood, your favorite song can come on and it can make you dance. I've had moments like those too but there are a select few moments that I can barely remember, however, these kind of moments are starting to stick a little.

An awkward fellow like myself experiencing how it feels to be smooth or even cool and I don't mean smooth like I know what to say to a gal when I like her, I mean smooth like my mannerisms and movement can change and it'll look like I'm dancing. There's a select few songs that can actually get me to that point, let alone how I'm feeling in the moment.

So one moment I remember, I was in college and I was dating this gal for a little, Lois. We didn't have any songs that represents us like most couples do but I did have songs that would remind me of her, there were two songs in particular though. One was for when I see her and the other was for when I wasn't around her, the song for when I would see her was "Song for Zula" by Phosphorescent from the soundtrack to The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I always found myself listening to it a lot when I saw her plus whenever we were talking, our chemistry would remind me of the chemistry that Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy had in the movie but whenever I saw her while I listen to the song, my eyes would be locked on her and her only so I'd be a different person in a way like one time I did that, I actually picked up someone's pen that they dropped on the floor which I never thought I'd be able to do that.

Another song I used for when I wasn't around her was "You Need Me" by Hans Zimmer and the Magnificent Six. I watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2 a lot when nothing else was on plus I listened to the soundtrack more than I watched it, I even got one of the jackets that Andrew Garfield wore in the movie. There was a slight difference but I didn't care, I still have it. Anyway, any time I heard the song, it would make me look back on how great it was being around her no matter how lame the day was. It would even play in my head a little when I would hang out with her.

I was still awkward at the end of the day but it was amazing not being that in certain amount of time because it would make me think how awesome I might've looked and sometimes I would be thinking to myself, "So this is how it feels to actually be cool". I'm okay with being awkward but I have to admit, it's pretty damn awesome being smooth for a little while.

Now I'm not really looking to be cool anymore, honestly, I never was but it's pretty awesome because when I listen to music and it takes control of me like the last time I experienced something like this again was months ago when Justin Timberlake's album, "Man of the Woods" came out and even though I wasn't a huge fan of it, I found two songs that had me on that level. "Higher Higher" made me a bit of a better listener to music and it kinda brought a bit of my dancing skills back as well, "Livin' Off the Land" just made me remember why I love music in the first place since I write lyrics a bit as well.
