Oh, the days of being a teenager, when we thought we were so grown up but didn’t really know anything. When our hormones were stronger than our brains, and everything felt like a life or death situation, at least when it came to romance. We were trying to figure out our place in the world, who we liked - and who we didn’t, what we wanted to be “when we grow up,” and started testing the concept of independence.

Phil Collins, 1988 blasting out the speakers so loud that my best friend and I should have gotten in trouble only this wasn't a trouble thing, this was a soul thing. It was like I was having an out of body experience.

One VisionPublished 3 years ago in BeatRyan Tedder is Producing The Brazilian Pop Star Anitta's New Album "Girl From Rio".
After releasing her new single Girl From Rio on April 30th, the Brazilian pop star Anitta presented her new song to Today Show, NBC, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, ABC. Fusing traditional bossa nova with trap melodies, the single pays tribute to Brazilian women and samples the '60 hit "Garota de Ipanema" ("The Girl From Ipanema"). The lyrics of the English-language track show a fewer glamourous Rio than the one delivered by Bossa Nova to the world in 1962. Girl From Rio has a great summer vibe where Anitta presents her perception of her hometown.

Some days, it feels like two small stones live pressed against my temples. I don't feel actively distressed or overwhelmed, I'm not dehydrated, I've breathed deeply...

A Generation of Angst
In 1985, I was about 14 years old and in the eighth grade. Where I come from, we have Junior High schools, so I spent three years in Junior High, seventh, eighth, and ninth grade. Looking back there were some of the most angsty and defining moments of my life.
Michelle DevonPublished 3 years ago in Beat An Exploration of Teenage Love: The Playlist
As a teenager, it's hard navigating the difficulties of relationships. Often, young men and women idealize the idea of being with someone, never fully comprehending the concept of spending every waking moment with someone who should be your best friend. Even now, it's hard for me to comprehend that concept. I often still want to jump into things without thinking, but I like to think I'm getting better at recognizing when certain connections are working and when others are not. Many songs have stuck with me over the years that have influenced my experiences with love in one way or another, and these are those songs.

L$D - A$AP Rocky This song was peak senior year me. It describes my most intimate thoughts and private emotions. Teenage me was a whole mess that couldn’t really think of anything past that for the most part. It just describes where my mind was at. It describes everything I ever wanted and couldn’t have at this time.

Softer, Softest
I was the only girl growing up with 4 brothers who all happened to be inherently very talented musicians. A lot of testosterone around.
The Soundtrack of Adolescence
Recollecting the playlist of my youth is like retrieving a time capsule buried 10 years in my mind. Under the painful memories, depression , self-saboteurs and darkness, just to retrieve the one thing that kept me breathing ... surviving to be here to write the playlist of once a trouble young girl : My Creative Zen MP3 (cause I couldn't afford an iPod) , filled with anthologies of music around the world.
Oh! The Misunderstanding of Being a Teen!
1975. Gen X: I am one of those like they don’t make them anymore. High school. I hated it. Loved learning but hated the people: students and teachers alike! What a bunch of idiots, mean spirited persons were they! I was their sacrificial lamb.
