Music is like a second language to me. It's very rare for me not to be wearing earphones and bobbing my head like a lunatic in public. If you're into very underground music or songs from famous artists that haven't made it to the top of the charts, keep reading!

Song #1- AJR, Come Hang Out

First time I heard this 'banger' was in the hallway when my best friend's phone started ringing. From the first bar, I was instantly intrigued. The high pitched, slightly animated voice sounded like GOD! I asked her for the title and she told me, Come Hang Out by AJR. I knew only one song from AJR, the only song most people know, Weak. As soon as I got home I grabbed my speaker and blared the tune–I was hooked! It tells the story of a man who is 'too busy' to chill with his mates because he is desperate to start his music career. The verses and the bridge are sung in the artist's normal voice while singing passionately about his eagerness. The chorus of angels, what I like to call it, comes in and reminds him that he needs to take a break and have some fun and adventure. Overall, this song passes an amazing message and out of this world vocals from AJR. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!

AJR

Song #2- The Beatles, Something

Perks of being a Wallflower, anyone? My friend convinced me to watch the film and, to be honest, I liked the soundtrack more than the plot itself! Filled with amazing songs from the 80's and 90's, there was one that stood out, Something. This a very chilled and relaxed song filled with unique guitar and piano melodies. The dynamics in this song scare the living sh*t out of me but make it more intense. The beginning starts off very slowly and mysteriously and builds up to a loud and intense love song. Listen to this when you're feeling like a 70's Hipster. Peace, Love, and Equality.

The Beatles

Song #3- Bebe Rexha, I'm Gonna Show You Crazy

The one thing better than this song.... the music video! An inspirational anthem for the outcasts of society. A powerful story about a broken girl who is always overthinking. Society thinks she isn't normal and needs to be medicated. She finally accepts herself and doesn't give a shit about the norm, and will show the world the true meaning of crazy if she has to. The chorus is a producer's wet dream, filled with disgusting remarks said by bullies, a loud bass, and a vibrating feel to it. An anthem for outcasts who are viewed as 'inferior' in society. Blast this song and show the world: crazy!

Bebe Rexha

Song #4- Zola Jesus, Lightsick

Grey's Anatomy fans, beware, because this is the song that you probably cried to more than five times throughout the TV show. A song about the death of light and completely losing hope, so please, for God's sake, never listen to this song when you're happy! But if you need a good cry, like every human being does to flush out those bad feelings and stress, put on some headphones and cry along to Lightsick. A hauntingly beautiful piece filled with superhuman high notes and depressing cellos accompanied by a life-ruining piano. I recommend listening to this four-minute masterpiece alone and in a safe space, to cry with no judgment!

Zola Jesus

Song #5- Dylan Gardner, Let's Get Started

I'd like to thank my father figure for this next song. The YouTube sensation, Shane Dawson! Shane is always promoting his good friend Dylan's music in his videos, and with good reason! Dylan writes and produces all of his pieces to perfection! Let's Get Started is my favourite tune of his due to the folk-rock vibe and his use of several different instruments. Dylan has an amazing voice and is much more talented than most artists played on the radio. Listen to Let's Get Started for motivation and happiness!
