Four Reasons to Be Excited About BLACKPINK Update

Earlier today, BLACKPINK updated their fans with the image shown above. There are a lot of reasons to be excited about what they've posted and here are just a few of them.

1. The title of BLACKPINK's new song is revealed.

The image clearly shows that four songs are planned for BLACKPINK's upcoming (and long-awaited) mini-album. The first track on the planned album has been revealed for the first time in this image.

For those who may have trouble pronouncing the title of the song, it's a little something like this: TU-du TU-du. Is anyone else hearing the sweet echoes of hwi pa-ra pa-ra pa-ra pam ringing in their heads?

Fans of BLACKPINK have been so anxiously waiting for some new content from the group, for about a year now. With this update on their official Instagram account, the reality of how close fans are to seeing their new choreography and hearing their new song only makes the waiting more excruciating!

After the postponements and delays, BLACKPINK is coming back on the fifteenth of June.

2. Teddy's name is all over it.

One word; Teddy.

Anyone who has followed BLACKPINK, or other YG groups for that matter, is familiar with the name Teddy. Hell, even if you aren't a big fan of any of YG's artist, you've still probably heard of Teddy a time or two. He's a huge player in the industry, a mega-talent, and no doubt a huge asset to YG Entertainment.

He produced innumerable hits for various YG artists, including several wildly popular tracks for BLACKPINK, including "Boombayah," "Whistle," "As If It's Your Last," and "Playing With Fire," among others. So it's obvious the man knows his way around a hit song. Tracks with his name on them are famously catchy with undeniably addicting beats.

With Teddy's name right smack in the middle of the image above, the expectation for the new song is incredibly high. Fans know that, with him working on the track, BLACKPINK's comeback will be as explosive and epic as it needs to be after keeping fans waiting for so long.

3. The Title Itself

"Ddu-du Ddu-du"

We've seen onomatopoeia from BLACKPINK before, so this title is a message to fans that they are still themselves, they've still got the same 'boom boom' in store for their comeback.

Another notable thing about this title is that it is most likely not a ballad, and just saying the words themselves has almost a rhythm and a beat of its own. It's safe to say that another hard-hitting, beat-popping song can be expected for the most anticipated comeback of the year. The promised date is eleven days away, YG is dropping some major breadcrumbs to satiate the starving fans, and each new revelation builds the excitement even higher.

Fans can look forward to amazing choreography (which BLACKPINK always delivers), unique and fashion-forward styling with a wow factor for their comeback stage and video, and a song that will be blasting through speakers and moving bodies throughout the world.

4. The date is approaching.

Just waiting for eleven more days feels like an insurmountable challenge at this point. Fans have daydreamed and speculated for months about this comeback.

It has been a year since their single "As If It's Your Last" hit the scene and started breaking records. BLACKPINK, who won first place on a music show for the first time only thirteen days after their debut (faster than any other girl group in K-pop history), has been breaking records since their fame was in its infancy. It makes one wonder what kind of records "Ddu-du Ddu-du" will break, and where the group can possibly go from where they already are.

About a week and a half must pass until the world receives BLACKPINK's comeback, and with this new update from YG, the world can rest assured that the song, the choreography, everything about the comeback will meet and most likely surpass all expectations.
