Thank you to everyone who sent in music to be featured this week, this series IS all about what you guys enjoy.

So here it is, Volume Two of Friday's Five at 5.

1. "I Hope This Feeling Doesn't Last" | Georgia Marley

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Camp Cope, Julia Jacklin and Stella Donnelly, this Sydney-based Indie Pop superstar is bursting her way onto the music scene with her debut single, "I Hope This Feeling Doesn't Last." You will be instantly hooked by the tambourine beats before she even starts singing, and when she does it's a whole lot of feels. In a style, which is entirely her own, Georgia layers the most beautiful harmonies in this catchy, uplifting, wonderful tune which she says is a "song about how my friends make me feel real."

Already feeling myself singing along, this is a track I can hear being played live across the nation, as well as across radio. Lyrically, the song reminds me of Australia's own Ruby Fields, due to the sometimes random, yet mostly relatable and deep words. The song was written and produced by Georgia herself; her talent really coming through in the track.

I personally can't wait to hear more from this one!

2. "Dirty Little Monsters" | Mother Culture

Melbourne-Based Band Mother Culture (Credit: Mother Culture Facebook)

This five-piece Alternative Pop Rock band from Melbourne's suburbs is one to look out for. Think 70s Psychedelic-Rock mixed with 90s Alternative-Rock… like Bowie mixed with Nirvana. Drawing inspiration from The Beatles, Radiohead and The Flaming Lips, their songwriting is out of this world and they vibe pure rock' n' roll.

The hard-hitting lyrics match the beautiful synchronicity of the music in the background; an almost five minute long unique psych-rock mixture. Listening to this track, you genuinely have to shake yourself awake and remind yourself you aren't listening to a classic 90s tune. The vocals of Darcy Ward who also wrote, recorded, performed, and produced the track in his garage are soothing yet awakening; it's extremely difficult to believe more people don't know about these legends in the making.

3. "Battered" | David Taylor

Releasing two singles within a month of each other, David Taylor is one to keep an eye on. Following his last release "Nervous," which is quite a cute, laid back country-pop vibe, David has taken a bit of a more powerful tone with, "Battered." The vocals are almost crying, reaching for hope through the hard-hitting lyrics, presenting a beautiful heartfelt track for your listening pleasure.

His debut album, Thoughts Then Reality, was released back in 2016, and with new music, David is getting ready to hit the stage with his Chapter Two Tour coming up in August/September across the nation. Friday's Five at 5's very own Ritzz will also be supporting David at his Sydney show on September 6; a show not to miss!

4. "Heather" | I Know Leopard

Iconic Aussie Band I Know Leopard (Credit: I Know Leopard Facebook)

This 70s inspired art-pop band will put you into a trance, with their shimmering, futuristic synthesisers creating the "musical equivalent of a space blanket" in their newly released album, Love is a Landmine. In an "unashamedly romantic record," I Know Leopard pull you in with playful yet dreamy soft rock beats and gorgeous impassioned lyrics.

"It reflects on experiences where attempts at love are met with confusion, pain and alienation," Luke O'Loughlin (vocals and keys) says.

"The record also explores the importance of learning to love yourself before you can successfully love someone else."

Alongside bandmates Rosie Fitzgerald (bass), Jenny McCullagh (violin and keys) and Todd Andrews (guitar), the group has created "Heather," the dreamiest sounding tune with the perfect music video to match. It features possibly the coolest synth stand I've ever seen, glitter and donuts, while literally making you feel like you are in the 70s with the simple composition and colour pops.

I Know Leopard will be playing Festival Of The Sun this coming December alongside the likes of Methyl Ethyl, Julia Jacklin, Trophy Eyes and more.

5. "Stupid" | G Flip

This Melbourne based drummer turned superstar has surprised us all, releasing the long awaited track "Stupid" this week. Accompanied by a trademark lyric video, this song does not disappoint and is just as catchy and brilliant as her previous releases. Her debut single,"About You," released in early 2018 went viral, with the tune instantly gaining love nation wide and debuting on Triple J's Hottest 100 at #38 that year.

If you have been at any G Flip show, you'll understand the pure awe that comes with being in the presence of this multitalented performer. The first time I saw her live was at Groovin The Moo earlier this year, and I was just in pure disbelief that this one young artist was singing like she was, whilst switching between drums, guitar and bass, all in the short half our set time she had.

This mellow and groovy tune is one that will be stuck in my head all weekend; in true G Flip style.

G Flip's debut album, About Us, comes out August 30… get ready!

That's all from me this week, hope you've enjoyed this week's Friday's Five at 5! PLEASE read and share to your hearts content as it helps me a LOT, and more importantly LISTEN TO THE ARTISTS!
