When it comes to following your passions, there are times that the struggle is just too real. Especially when it seems the world is beating you down, and everytime you get up, the wave of life hits you again. But for one artist, no matter how many waves have knocked her down she gets right back up. From her external struggle with the music industry to the internal struggle of personal issues, Gia Farrell has made her way back to the top! For when it comes to following your passion she has the perfect advice, "Just do it. What do you have to lose? Never stop trying."

You may remember Farrell from her 2006 single Hit Me Up which was featured in Happy Feet, the single that made you want to get up and dance! Fun Fact: she actually co-wrote this song with a production team when she was only 16. But for Farrell music has always been her biggest passion.

Ever since she was little her passion was singing, belting out Whitney Houston in her mom's car to singing her favorite Beatles song Oh' Darling. Farrell has spent the last ten years writing music and dealing with mental illness and simply living life. When it comes to talking about her struggles she says that support from family and friends, along with finally finding the right medicine, helped her. Despite all of her downfalls, she has found a way to turn them into something positive, through her music!

Farrell recently released her first single Original Sin, off her new EP that will be released this year! For those of you who love Dexter (such as myself) will truly enjoy the music video to Original Sin.

(You can find it below). But when it comes to the song itself there is no denying it's dark and exciting tune. According to Farrell, this song is more her than anything she has put out in the past. Which we can look forward to in her upcoming songs from this weird, caring, artist! (Three words she describes herself as!) What really makes her stand out is that music and singing are her life, which really drives home her passion. If you have yet to listen to her music, go now, because she deserves all the support she can get! As a down to earth artist and person, her music is worth the wait!

Since I end every blog with something positive I want to share a quote from Gia Farrell and hopefully, it resonates with you as much as it does with me, "I have gone through a lot in my life that has brought me to this point. I love who I am, and I love that I can show everybody who I really am now."

You can check out her music video below:
