Guide to TXT (New BTS Junior Group)

TXT, the newest group from Big Hit Entertainment, recently debuted on March 4, 2019 with their first mini album, The Dream Chapter: STAR. The five-member boy group is now breaking records for rookie K-pop groups and is taking the world by storm. Below you can read about some of the members, and some facts about each of them.

Soobin

Leader and vocalist Choi Soo Bin was born on December 5, 2000, hailing from Sangnok-gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. His stage name is Soobin.

Yeonjun

Rapper and vocalist Choi Yeon Jun was born on September 13, 1999, hailing from Bundang-gu, Seongnam City, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. His stage name is Yeonjun.

Beomgyu

Vocalist Choi Beom Gyu was born on March 13, 2001, hailing from Daegu, South Korea. His stage name is Beomgyu.

Vocalist Kang Tae Hyun was born on February 5, 2002, hailing from Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea. His stage name is Taehyun.

Huening Kai

Vocalist, visual, and maknae (youngest member) Kai Kamal Huening was born on August 14, 2002, haling from Honolulu, Hawaii. His stage name is Huening Kai.

Debut

TXT’s debut has already been a massive success in just one day! They have broken the record for most views on a rookie group’s debut music video in 24 hours. The music video for the their debut title track "CROWN" is now the third fastest music video by a K-pop artist to achieve one million likes. Their debut album even became the first debut album by a K-pop boy group to achieve the number one spot on the US iTunes charts.

The group is receiving tons of love from all over the world on Twitter and various social media. Go stream their music video and debut album on YouTube and it is also available on many other music streaming services.

Concept theories

Many of the fans have created theories about what the group’s concept will be.

1. Big Hit Universe

Some fans believe that the group’s story will collide with BTS’s story from The Most Beautiful Moment in Life and Love Yourself. While this idea has some merit, it is unlikely that this is the case, and Big Hit most likely wants to create entirely different storylines for the two groups.

2. Atomic Structure/Physics

One of the logos/symbols in the promotional material for the group shows loops that cross through each other, which is quite similar to the structure of an atom. This could possibly mean that the group might experiment with songs about the relationship of physics and normal everyday human life.

3. Eclipse

In one of the teasers for TXT’s debut, a black and a white circle can be seen slowly colliding into each other forming a blue circle when they inter-lap. Fans believe this is an allusion to solar eclipses, in which the sun and moon align perfectly. This could possibly be a joining between TXT and some other force, whether it’s the fans, or some ethereal being we don’t know.
