i GOT KiDS (How Drake Should Have Responded)

Barbados Gold hits you with another banger, “i GOT KiDS,” that has an addictive hook around a theme that is addressed and expressed brilliantly. This is the song that Drake should have come back with once Pusha T called him out with "The Story of Adidon."

Pusha T penned and released "Adidon" after Drake made his own diss track called "Duppy Freestyle." In that song Drake slams Pusha, as well as Kanye West, for all he has done for them without being given any credit. Ironically, we learn from Pusha that Drake is not even performing his daddy duties for the secret baby that he reportedly has.

How is it that someone so popular and with such a squeaky-clean image has an out-of-wedlock baby—and with a porn star no doubt?!? That is quite disappointing, and misleading to say the least. And on top of it all, he hides it from his fans. What is he ashamed of, why is he keeping it under wraps?

Is this what fatherhood has come to mean in our current push button/touchscreen age? Now we have men going around having sexual relations with all types of women like there are no consequences? This is even more shameful considering that this hidden baby is the product of relations with a porn star. Drake? A porn star? Out of all the women out here, and the stature that Drake has created for himself, he decides to lay down with a porn star?

That is not a good look. It is not sending out the right message to men, or even women for that matter. There is no respectable man/father who wants his daughter to grow up to be a porn star. Moreover, that same man/father definitely wants his daughter to find a man that can take care of her and the children they have together. The dilemma here is clear.

Drake has yet to respond directly to the secret baby allegations, which merely adds more validity that the allegations are indeed true. Why not just deny the claims if they are false? Or just own up to them if they are true? Drake saw it necessary to address the cover art of "Adidon," which used a real picture of him painted in “blackface” when he was a younger entertainer. So, he clearly saw that there was something wrong with that and that it required some explaining. However, when it comes to his child and who the mother of his child is, he has kept silent.

Well no more silence. It is time to speak on the issue outright and upfront. This is where Barbados Gold comes in with his song "i GOT KiDS." Gold lays it all out unapologetically. Not only does he admit to having a child, he confesses that he has many children—which consequently, in this case, means there are multiple mothers of the children he has. Drake will not even acknowledge the one mother of his child. Yet, here is Gold letting you know there is not only one, but plenty more where she came from. This song is also timely considering that Father’s Day is a thing now. Mothers have held it down long enough, and it is time for the fathers to stand up and take their place and guide their children in a righteous direction.
