British rockers The Who are heading to Sin City for a history-making, albeit brief, residency.

The band, led by Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, have perhaps become best known as the group whose music became theme songs for the CSI franchise - "Who Are You" was the theme for the original CSI, "Won't Get Fooled Again" introduced CSI: Miami and "Baba O'Riley" was the lead in for CSI: New York. The group announced they were heading to Vegas's Colosseum on their Facebook page on March 13 in a post that has since been shared over 1,100 times and reacted to by over 4,500 people.

The show will be, at least in part, a charitable one, as $1 from every ticket sold will go toward Teen Cancer America. Roger Daltrey has been a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust for the last 20 years, and both Daltrey and Townshend have regularly worked with the organization in their annual fundraising concerts at Royal Albert Hall.

Their stint in Las Vegas will mark the first time that any rock band has done a residency at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. Country superstars Reba McEntire and Brooks & Dunn recently made history as well, as they have extended their Vegas residency again to become the longest running act to have one.

Social media trolls have questioned why the frontmen of The Who have committed once again to hitting the stage, given they have once sung about dying before they get old in "My Generation," easily one of the most recognizable songs in rock history. At 73 and 71 years old respectively, Daltrey and Townshend are hitting the stage once again at a time when most other individuals would be thinking about retirement.

There have also been some questions raised by fans on the group's Facebook page as to why only one dollar for every ticket sold is going to Teen Cancer America, but it appears as though The Who is unfazed by what could be taken as a negative comment.

One Facebook user named Mark Helfand wrote, "The Colosseum at Caesars Palace holds 4,298 seats. That's $4,298 from each show... times 6 is $25,788... c'mon guys... how about $5 from every ticket sold?!?" When whoever writes comments for The Who suggested that Helfand could donate as much as he saw fit to Teenage Cancer America, Helfand replied, "I have donated a lot of time, money and efforts to fight cancer. My 11 year old son was diagnosed at age 7 with cancer. His cancer, myxopapillary ependymoma, has no known cure and I do not have the kind of bank roll that The Who has. GO BIG OR GO HOME!!"

One need only look at the energy the men bring to their performances, though, to realize that it's the passion for the music that drives them. Certainly, The Who continues to be considered one of the greatest rock bands of all time, and while Keith Moon and John Entwistle have long since passed on, Daltrey and Townshend continue to remind audiences just why The Who is one of the best rock bands ever.

The residency is scheduled to begin July 29 and continue through August 11. The general sale for tickets begins March 17 at noon, and ticket prices range from $76 to $501. The presale is on now and ends Thursday March 16 at 10 pm.
