Reason First: Will Remy Ma Move West?
Charged with assault, Remy Ma faces even more scrutiny.
Is Nicki Minaj somewhere drinking champagne, laughing, and popping cheeseballs in her mouth? Her fellow rapper and arch rival Remy Ma has found herself in yet another legal matter for allegedly punching Brittney Taylor in the face. After serving six years behind bars, Remy Ma may seem to not have the bearing to deal with life on the outside. Her willingness to turn herself in is at least a good move. The comparatively low bail set at $1,500 signals that she at least has the wherewithal to post such a relatively minuscule bail.
That's what this is about.
Remy Ma may be another example of a woman who might be on the verge of becoming a repeat offender. After the release from prison, Remy Ma returned to the fore with gusto. By putting out diss tracks like “Shether” directed mainly at Nicki Minaj and a collaboration album with Fat Joe, Plato O Plomo (2017), Remy Ma seemed poised to become a significant force on the hip hop scene.
I don't think that Remy Ma is too shy.
Yet, beef with Nicki Minaj only fueled her resolve to claim somewhat rap supremacy. With this new allegation, Remy Ma’s stock plummeted once again in the exchange of hip hop. The idea that Remy Ma could punch out a woman that she had little connection with as opposed to shooting her friend in the torso seems to be possible but not plausible. The heat of the clash between Remy Ma and her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph involved the knowledge of someone that she valued. It represented something that pointed to a closeness. With the Brittney Taylor incident, Remy Ma appears to not have cared about Taylor enough to assault her.
The Mountains of the West
Remy Ma seemed collected and reserved as she brushed off reporters’ questions. In particular, to the query, “What made you turn yourself in today?” posed by an alleged TMZ reporter, Remy Ma simply answered with a question: “What?!” Her demeanor with aplomb and steadiness blasted the reporter’s other barrage of questions.
Winter in the West
Remy Ma didn’t seem fazed by the press and strolled into an SUV with her husband, rapper Papoose, without even a hint of apprehension. Such a charge of a case related to initiation of physical force demonstrates that Remy Ma will forever be the target of discussion concerning violence. Like a specter following her in the night, Remy Ma will remain on the radar for charges against her. The associates of Remy Ma seem to be truly to blame. Whoever is the head of public relations and takes care of Remy Ma’s personal matters ought to be fired for their incompetence. Remy Ma, of course, if the charge sticks, should take individual responsibility for her actions.
Another Winter Scene of the West
The idea that she recently walked away from prison walls not too long ago should drive her to stay away from all criminal activity. Remy Ma’s talent ought to be the wellspring for her to reap the funds of her labor. She ought to move out to Bozeman, Montana and live with her husband and their children. With the move out West, such alleged attacks shouldn’t and wouldn’t be attributed to Remy Ma. She would have the opportunity to regain spiritual balance and better understanding.
A Rather Placid Photograph
Remy Ma’s name is too good and too precious in the rap world to have her integrity compromised. The best way for Remy Ma to gain peace of mind is to continue to produce substantive music. If it is true that the allegations fall on Remy Ma’s head, it will be because of her own emotional, not thinking response. But if the whole thing does not relate to her then the “All the Way Up” rapper chance at living her life completely.
