New Rising Artist

For many people reading this review, you may not know of Tedy Andreas. Well, let me first start by introducing a rapper who not only deserves more recognition but also, he's overall a good rapper whose flow is different from rappers today because he raps as though he came straight from the 80s and 90s.

According to Genius, "Theodore Ross Andreadaki, who was born November 22, 1994, better known by his stage name Tedy Andreas, is an American hip-hop artist and songwriter from Houston, Texas." I first started listening to his music about two years ago while watching the “Retrosnickers” YouTube channel. The first project that he dropped back in 2015 titled Mad Illusions generated a lot of his buzz when it was released. Now In2deep was supposed to have dropped back in 2016 but finally dropped after much anticipation from his followers on August 22 of this year. I really like his persona and his flow because personally I'm a fan of Hip-Hop from the 80s and 90s and hearing him rap is like giving me a flashback when I hear him.

Going into this project, I was just expecting more of what I heard it on Mad Illusions, which was a lot of old school type beats along with his great flow but on a different level. I wanted better music from him to see where he has grown and how he has progressed since dropping that project two years ago.

So, after listening to the full project and really trying to listen to lyrics and see how they coexisted with the instrumentals/beats he decided to rap on I am overly impressed with the quality progress he has made with In2Deep. This album wasn’t really long with only containing nine songs so I didn’t have any songs that I really disliked and my favorite song of this album had to be “2nd Hand.” I like this song because his flow on this instrumental was so good and I also liked that the title was another phrase for contact smoke but really he's not talking about drugs. Instead, he speaks on how when he touches money it gives him a type of high. Another track from his album that I thought was really good was titled, "2 Bics." I really enjoyed this track because as soon as the song starts he comes out the gate hard. The chorus is really just him talking about having Bic lighters on his safe and dresser to light up his weed. The last song I should mention is "Black Ice" because this was the first song released from this project, has a music video, and also has the most plays on his SoundCloud.

Overall, I think that Tedy Andreas dropping In2deep now was definitely worth the wait with the quality he just dropped. I really think if you’re considering listening to him or just looking for a new artist that has good music you should definitely consider listening to Tedy Andreas’s music. I’m just so disappointed that many people that are signed to record labels are putting out trash. People like Tedy Andreas have been making music for a while that is actually great music, and they still can’t get a chance in the music business to be signed by anyone. His music definitely has more of a 90s vibe because of his flow and instrumentals he picks, but for me, I love hip-hop from the 90s/80s which makes me more drawn to him as an artist. So for this project, I’m going to go ahead and give him an 8/10 only because I wish you would’ve added more songs.
