Things You Missed on Taylor Swift’s ‘Are You Ready For It?’ Video

Okay, so I just noticed this morning that Taylor Swift released another music video for her sixth album ‘Reputation’ for one of her new songs, ‘Are You Ready For It?’ If you’ve seen the video already, you may or may not have already realized that you probably missed a few key clues on what the song is really about when you watched it the first time. Am I correct in saying this?

So right now, what we are going to do is actually break it down so we can discover the some of the key things that you probably missed when watching the ‘Are You Ready For It?’ video the first time through.

1. Graffiti on bunker walls means more hidden messages. Besides the number ‘13’ scrawled on the wall, other phrases appear as to what looks like song titles we currently know from her album and maybe song titles we will come to know. The ‘UR Gorgeous’ one kind of gave it away.

2. The name ‘Joseph’ gets a notice. We found the name ‘Joseph’ written in Chinese but we’re not sure here if this name pertains to her boyfriend Joe Alwyn or Joseph Kahn since Kahn referenced the Chinese attributes of the video in an earlier tweet.

3. Looks like Swift still has some ‘Bad Blood’ going on. Okay, so she’s not taking on the haters with her squad this time like she did in the ‘Bad Blood’ video, but it looks like there’s still an enemy in the midst. I’m thinking this time she is up against herself. What do YOU think?

4. Cyborg T-Swizzle rides another white horse. A third white horse in all of her music videos has to symbolize something. From her music video, ‘White Horse’ from her Fearless album to ‘Blank Space’ from her 1989 album and now this one for the ‘Reputation’ album. Is this signaling a past broken heart from yet another relationship?

5. A Harry Potter reference perhaps? Could the glowing orb gaze be a reference to a Harry Potter scene from a past movie? One source thinks it possibly may be but only Taylor would honestly know the answer. The point she’s maybe trying to portray here is that only one can and will survive. Who do you think it’s going to be?

6. ‘Surprised Taylor’ appears again. Maybe it’s no surprise, but I think this is a reference that is going to help us realize that Taylor is no longer concerned about her past but ready to take on the future by storm. It’s a way to let the people (especially the media) realize that they can no longer trap her in a cage and manipulate her to their benefit. As she explained in her ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ video, the ‘old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh…’cause she’s dead.’

7. A shout-out to Joe. In the video, you will see Taylor walk through the tunnel and right behind her sprayed in colorful, outlined graffiti are the numbers ‘89’ (the year Taylor was born) and ’91 (the year Joe Alwyn was born). Pretty cute, huh?

So, what do you think of Taylor’s latest music video ‘Are You Ready For It?’ and what were your thoughts when you first watched it? I think it’s pretty exciting and awesome that Taylor put this together and it really speaks volumes about herself as the ‘new Taylor’ in her sixth album, ‘Reputation.’ She’s an awesome female pop superstar and I cannot wait until her next music video for this album is released.
