As someone that has followed BTS heavily since debut in June 2013, I understand how overwhelming it can be for those that want to get into BTS but don't know where to start. That's why I'm here to kick off this "Get to know BTS!" Series with my all time must-hear BTS songs.

1. "Tomorrow"

Kicking off the list is none other than one of their most influential songs to date. Tomorrow emphasizes the feelings of going through so much in life that some days you could care less whether or not you live. While embracing this tiresome feeling of doing so much but it's never enough, the song then encourages you to keep going and pushing forward till you reach your dreams. Who doesn't love a song that'll help you get through your darkest days.

2. "House of Cards"

Next in line, we have "House of Cards." For anyone who is looking to see the potential in the vocal line of BTS, this is one of my favorite go to songs because of not only their harmonizing abilities but because of the immense emotion they display. There is so much soul to this jazz/blues inspired soundtrack and I recommend it to anyone who is into slower but powerful music.

3. "Baepsae/SilverSpoon/Crow Tit"

If you were to ask anyone in the BTS A.R.M.Y what are the top bops that BTS have released, this song would definitely be one of them. Known for it's many names when the song first released (as you can see for yourself), the overly hype song offers nothing but a good time to those who just wanna dance after a long stressful day. Don't underestimate the message that comes with this song though. Baepsae could be considered the korean equivalent to "Look At Me Now" by star Chris Brown as it focuses on everything the boys have been called in the past while letting you know just how popping they are now.

4. "Hip-Hop Lover"

In my opinion, one of the most overlooked songs of the Dark & Wild album is "Hip-Hop Lover." This songs shares the same background as "Tomorrow" but instead of focusing of what could be tomorrow, the song acts as a sequel in explaining what they've been through as artists, how far they've come, and where they are now compared to back then. While having a good meaning, the upbeat song is one I can guarantee will put you in a better mood.

5. "Born Singer"

Another song that compares to "Tomorrow" is "Born Singer." This song is a remake of J.Cole's "Born Sinner" and talks about how the groups feels that they were born to accomplish everything they've done so far (hence the title "Born Singer"). One of the many reasons BTS has managed to blown up as much as they have is largely due to the messages they includes in all of their songs. "Born Singer" is a good example to display that as well.

6. "Cypher Pt. 4"

Although I would like everyone to give "Cypher" parts 1,2, and 3 a chance, I felt that part 4 had to be the one mentioned here only due the growth in skill between all cyphers. The rap line consists of RM, J-Hope, and Suga with Jungkook as a sub rapper from time to time. "Cypher Pt. 4" is a song I'd recommend listening to without translations first because you get to feel and experience their flows and performances as rappers of the groups. Don't get me wrong, the lyrics are just as important but what are lyrics without a great performer behind them.

7. "No More Dream"

"No More Dream" to date is BTS's least viewed music video although it is their debut song. Although BTS have grown as artists, it's always good to look back at where you come from. That is why I included this song in the list. Although I consider the song to be great and iconic, I understand that this probably isn't BTS's most favored song; nonetheless, I still recommend checking it out to to see the growth in these seven young men.

8. "Can You Turn Your Phone Off"

We've all been there. When we are trying to have a genuine conversation or outing experience with someone and they just can't put their phone down(or you reading could be that person yourself). Whether it be a significant other, a friend, or even a stranger, it can be a turn off when you want to have a serious conversation with someone but they just can't seem to stay off of their phone for five seconds. That's what this song is about. It's one of BTS's more intermediate songs not being too upbeat but not entirely too slowed down either.

9. "Butterfly"

One of their most favored ballads to date is "Butterfly." This is one song where the vocals speak for itself. Regardless of knowing the words initially, how well the vocal line executed singing this song is impressive beyond all words and I can't express how much I think you need to listen to this song.

10. "Pied Piper"

Ending off this list, we have "Pied Piper." This song is probably one of only songs out there like this (I could be wrong) but it's meant to tell their fans to live their life and stop spending every waking moment worried about BTS. Now BTS is forever grateful for their fans and the song is not meant to downplay their efforts in getting BTS to where they are. This song is meant to let the A.R.M.Y know its okay to take a break from being a fan for a while, get married, study for exams, listen to your parents, etc. and just live life for what it is and not living through BTS's life on the screen. This whistle tuned song is a good one to nod your head along to while also remembering BTS is telling you that they want the best for you just as you want the best for them. Really, how much sweeter can these men get?

These are my top ten must hears for BTS but please know that there is way more to this group than just these ten songs and I encourage you to find more music by them. Until next time!
