We made it to episode 35 and we’re excited to bring you this artist, John K with “OT (Overtime)” and to have our first vlog/blog featured here.

Orlando born John Keyser, also known as JOHN K, brings back the 90s R&B love sound every woman on Earth has been anxiously awaiting. His buttery vocals, and the trance inducing melody, along with the sweetness of the lyrics of his new single "Overtime" will have women everywhere swooning. His brooding good looks don't hurt, either. Every girl on the planet has daydreamed of having something like the words of this song said to them from 16-60… this girl included.

In an age of Tinder dates, and no labels, women have been wishing for the “gentleman in love” to come back in style as have mullets, trucker caps and PBR, which have done nothing for the female persuasion. Leave it to John K to oblige us with his old soul lyrics. Singing more about feelings and less about "screw and leave," will have women flooding to download and daydream. He is definitely on to something and he has our approval.

His sound, although mostly R&B, has blatant hints of jazz, hipster blues, and Latin influences that can't be ignored; all this while maintaining his overall pop feel throughout the track. His grandfather, jazz trumpeter John Poulson, had little John amid music and greats like his best friend, jazz legend, Bunny Berigan throughout childhood. It was no surprise his sound would be riddled with inherited talent, and diverse in nature. There is definitely bits of his deep southern childhood shining through in his music, and the current climate of Florida’s Latin influence.

His latest track "Wrong," has the definite similarities to Shawn Mendes, while the "OT" track we featured, gives the feeling of Khalid which can’t be denied. Then his track "Gold" featuring Ricky Remedy is in your face, electric accompanying his vocals, giving it a totally different flavor. You never know what you will get, but you welcome the change. His lyrics and the meat of his songs are consistent, even as the nuances vary from track to track. You still have the “every girls daydream” feel through and through.

We loved it. All of it. We listened to it more than we had to, just to feature him, and we will continue to do so. He has definitely earned three fans from us. If he continues to bring the originality, sultry vocals, and surprisingly pleasing retro love to his future tracks, he has nothing to worry about when it comes to his success. He is definitely a woman centered artist, and he will have NO problems filling arenas with ladies of all ages.

He has been making waves on the music scene since 2012, and we predict he will be a household name by the end of this year. Being able to accidentally harness the spirit of Boyz To Men, while still maintaining the sound similar to current pop geniuses like Khalid and Mendes makes him a sure bet for the upcoming blowout artist roster. We would put money on it (if we had it).

He doesn’t currently have a tour planned or announced, but you can find and keep up with that information here. We know he will have more events than he can keep up with soon enough.
