The 15-day song challenge has been hot on social media. The way the challenge works is each day you post a song that applies to the theme for that day. This list is based on my own personal opinions. Which songs would make your list?
The 15-day song challenge has been hot on social media. The way the challenge works is each day you post a song that applies to the theme for that day. This list is based on my own personal opinions. Which songs would make your list?
Day 1 - Your favorite song
I am a huge Depeche Mode fan and this is one of my favorite songs of all time by them.
Day 2 - Your least favorite song
I am not a fan of pop music in general. This is one of those songs that gets stuck in your head and doesn't go away.
Day 3 - A song that makes you happy
Depeche Mode is one of my favorite bands and this song makes me want to dance. This song always brings me strength related to moving on from past relationships in a positive way.
Day 4 - A song that makes you sad
This song is very honest and heart wrecking. The lyrics can mean different things to me depending on what I am currently going through in life. It brings me back to a dark place and reminds me of overcoming addiction and failed relationships.
Nine Inch Nails “Something I can never have”
Day 5 - A song that reminds you of someone
This song reminds me of a certain friend, whom I have been trying to save for years. He faces many obstacles in this life and I do what I can to overcome my own obstacles and help him with his.
Stabbing Westward "Save Yourself"
Day 6 - A song that reminds you of somewhere
This song reminds me of a coffeehouse I used to frequent back in the early 2000's. This is the song that was playing as I was driving way the day they shut down for good. Ironic enough this song is also about a place.
Day 7 - A song that reminds you of a certain event
This was my high school graduation song so it makes me think of that time in my life.
Day 8 - A song that you know all the words to
I have been in love with this song since the moment it came out. I know all the words to it and sing along anytime I hear it.
Day 9 - A song that you can dance to
This is one of my favorite songs to dance to.
Dead or Alive "You Spin Me Round"
Day 10 - A song that makes you fall asleep
This song is mellow and relaxing.
Day 11 - A song from one of your favorite bands
I am a huge My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult fan. They are one of those bands that I always go back and listen to.

Day 12 - A song from a band you hate
I am not a fan of Kayne West. I do not like his out of sync-rap style. I am also not a fan of robot sound effects or his lyrics.
Day 13 - A song that is a guilty pleasure
In general, I am not a fan of pop music. This song, however, is catchy and I really do enjoy it.
Day 14 - A song that no one would expect you to love
I don't listen to much Emo music. I do however really like Bright Eyes. They are one of the few bands in the genre that I do actually enjoy.

Day 15 - A song that describes you
I am a huge fan of Jack off Jill and have been since the 90's. This song best represents my personality and overcoming life events. Never be afraid to be yourself.

I met Taylor Swift at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN when I was eleven (maybe freshly twelve?) years old. At this point, Swift had one single on the radio, "Tim McGraw," and she was essentially a nobody. My god how things have changed. I was a fan then and I'm probably considered a superfan now. This is my first impression of her most recent album release, "The Tortured Poets Department."

Two Pink Lines
I had never really felt like a child. I'd always had to raise myself. My mother was just a teenager when she'd had me and consequently, we had spent my whole childhood arguing and fighting like a couple of sisters as opposed to mother and daughter. My father was older than my mother but still had some maturing to do himself. He focused his entire life on me, his little girl but never realized the pressure that put on me. I always felt I had to raise him even as he was trying to raise me. We raised each other. Then, I met him. He cares, he shows me a love like I've never known. For once, it's about me and I don't have to focus on other people's needs and what someone needs from me. Someone always wants something from you. That is what my parents have taught me. Love is selfish but it isn't with him. He is perfect, beautiful, funny, and can take me to places I've only dreamed about. Places outside my mind and my own pathetic life and I know that I will always love him. When we first met, I wanted him to have my children, but now? Right now, with us both still in high school? This is all happening so soon. I slipped into the restroom at work. It had been 6 weeks since my last menstrual and this was not normal. I couldn't wait any longer. I put the top on the test and waited. These 60 seconds felt like forever. What would we do? We were both seniors so we didn't have long to go before school was over but this was not the plan. The plan was for him to join the Army and me the National Guard and for me to get my associate's degree and then we marry, then have kids.
