"Bass Heavy D2uece Original Mix"

The Making of the Track

This video is about "Bass Heavy D2uece Original Mix." Hello Hiponation. This is Morris, AKA DJ D2uece. Welcome to my first Vocal story. I wanted to share my first video with everyone here. Sit back and enjoy, and if you guys have any questions or comments, please let me know. Enjoy.

So the story with this mix is that I mostly use a lot phone apps to make my music.

And this one isn’t any different. The app that I used for this mix is called "NinjaJamm." This app allows me to take a track that is in its library and use it to mix. So with that in mind, I had done that while also documenting the audio and visuals. (Which I will show on here on Vocal as well.) So for the video that I had made, I used iMovie on my iPhone X. Basically, I had made a collage of mini videos of pics that I had made of my logos, as well as other pics of myself that I had also used for different apps. The only major problem that I had making this video was being able to do it. With my busy schedules between work and home. Sometimes working some crazy hours nothing ever stays the same. And then going home to my wife, and raising my two daughters and my stepson can be a handful at times. The video itself was kinda long cause I was using the pics and making sure that they had the length of the song covered in the video, but also did not make it look cheesy in the process. So this was kinda time-consuming due to the fact I was trying to not have the same thing up in the video for the whole duration of the song itself. So now, let me show you some of other the work that I put into the mix itself.

I wanted to start sharing the process that I went through to make this song. First of all, I had to do five segments of it. The only reason why this was in five-segment intervals was because the "NinjaJamm" App would only allow five minutes for each part. So as you can see in the video, the first four vertical lines I’m just letting everything play out as it is. So in the first clip, I started messing with the effects, basically just seeing what to listen to, seeing the effects, and seeing what impact that it would have on that part of the song. I switched over to another effect (sorry if I don’t know the names and everything for these effects—it’s been awhile since I’ve made this song). So at this point in the mix, I’m now messing with the timing of each beat, each part of the mix, and the samples being used. Let me remind you that I’m still only in the first vertical line of the mix! So I still have a lot more to play with here. And it is very fun too—I felt like a kid in a candy store. As I’m messing around with the timing of each square in the first vertical row of samples, you can notice that the left side deals with more beats per second, or a repeat per each sample for the amount of about two or three seconds, with some leeway to hear the difference that it makes in the song. Whereas on the right side, it gives more of a right on the spot studded beat. Now, at the end of the first part of this video series, I had started to move over to the second vertical row of samples and you can tell in a way that the beat has started to pick up a little. But thanks to the five-minute rule in the recording of this mix, I could only get in two squares in the second row started. I will continue the second row of samples in my next story here on Vocal. I hope you enjoyed my story.
