Just follow the notes

Just follow the notes.

Do you ever feel kind of like a broken record? Or an old cassette tape that has had its innerds pulled out, tied back together and then stuffed back inside? And from that point on, nothing really seemed the same, like everything was a little scratchy and fuzzy?

There are few things in the world that are as annoying as a broken rhythm.

Whether the bass player is in the wrong key, or someone in the crowd is clapping VERY loudly in all the wrong places. It's just hard to bear.

When rhythm is broken, often so is the enjoyment of the song. You might be singing along to your favorite song, and you're just about to reach the pinnacle of the most emotional part! And then....the cd skips, or your tape jack stops working, or the battery on your iPhone dies. Whatever it was, it interrupted the rhythm, and it stole the joy of the moment. Man, haven't we all experienced this? I'm not just talking about on the way to work in your car. Everyday, people experience "broken rhythm ". They are going right along, enjoying their life, thinking everything is ok, then BAM! They get slammed in the face. The love of their life broke up with them. BAM! Their Mother was diagnosed with cancer. BAM! They lose their job. Their rhythm got messed up. Their cd skipped. Just when everything seemed to be going along fine, the song got interrupted.

Unfortunately, we can't stop the skips from happening. Life can be a bumpy road, and interruptions occur quit naturally. But there is one thing that we do have the power to control: Our response to them.

Thankfully, technology has developed to the place that skipping isn't as big of a problem as it used to be. It really depends more than anything on the QAULITY of the device.

That is the quality I'm writing about: Being a skip free person.

You can't stop the challenges from coming. You can't stop the bumps in the road from meeting your tires. But you can make up your mind to not let the interruption take you off track. You can't let the break in your rhythm make you quit playing the song. Just. Keep. Playing.

Learn to live in rhythm. Learn to step to the beat. If you miss a beat, that's ok, JUST KEEP PLAYING!

I've heard it said to musicians that if you make a mistake on stage, you miss a note, get out of rhythm, forget a lyric, you must NEVER stop playing. Just move right along. A mistake can be corrected, but if you stop altogether, you're done.

Don't let mistakes and disappointment keep you from your destiny! Just keep playing. Your song is not over yet. You were created by the best musician who ever lived, and He is still writing your song! Life will try to break your rhythm, but if you refuse to let it break your spirit your song will live on. This is a record you don't want to break!

If you'll stay in rhythm no matter what life throws your way, then nothing will be able to stop your song. You'll become a "skip-free" person!

How do you stay in rhythm? Easy, just follow the notes. Play one note at a time. And once you've played that note, just play the next one. Take one note at a time. One note played after the other consistently will eventually turn into a beautiful song!

Don't miss out on the song your creator has written for you!

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
