Root of All Evil

"MONEY MY BEST FRIEND."

My artist name is, Firelane. Fist and foremost, I was born and raised in Rialto, Ca, which is in the heart of San Bernardino County. Within San Bernardino County I've seen lots of crimes for money, I've seen a lot of ups and downs in my lifetime, poverty etc. Some crimes escalated to attempted murder/murder over that almighty dollar.

I've been doing music for most of my childhood and adult life. While it is true that you can't live without it, and you can, and some will definitely, die for it. I've always had a mindset to make meaningful music for people, that you can actually get a positive vibe from; music that gives you positive direction.

So, while going along the way of my musical journey, I've always noticed that "money/scrilla/scratch/cheese/cash/bread," or what ever you call it, has been, and still is, a very powerful resource, if not the most powerful resource. It's a known fact that money can make or break you, and the effects can possibly be long term. Money can change you, and the perception of people around you. Money can make people envy you, or be jealous of you. It holds the power to make you happy or sad. So with this thought in the forefront of my mind, I actually sat down, and began to brainstorm long and hard. Then I brought to life/created this song/video.

It was meant to shed some insight/light on how money can make you feel; to shed some light on the highs, and the way down lows, of money. I portray money as my one, and only, savior in this video of truth. Although we already know that money is similar to the devil, and a definite empty hope for something better. I also aim to show you that money provides a false sense of security. I want to show you that money cannot buy you love, but It can buy you plenty of fake love, from fake people. Money also creates the hunger for more money, which in turn creates greed, which is an actual sin. I cut off all of my friends and family for love of money. I started living as if this money can literally keep me alive. I started living as if it was some sort of time machine, or even a fountain of youth to keep me young. Crazy, right?

In the video in question, I spend all my time hanging out with the money, as if it's the only thing that matters to me in the world. But, at the end of the video we will show you that the money comes and goes, and also to never value money more than family/friends. Money can be a very satisfying temporary thing.

I've seen a lot of people go from being on top, then back to the bottom of the pit. If you put money first you will definitely lose in the end. Me and my record label, "Rare Records," @slappersOnDeck/@FireSquad/@moneybagzmanagment have gone above and beyond to bring this video to life, to educate and bring awareness to the dangers of not being open-minded, and well-rounded when it comes to dealing with money.

Remember, we all need to learn how to keep an even balance between money and happiness, a fine line between finances and friends.
