Meghan’s Melodic Playlist
Hello everyone! I'm looking forward to this! This is the most important exercise for me about this challenge by sharing the music that has shaped my life, lifting up my mood, expressing my feelings/emotions, battling my struggles/pain, seeking amazing adventures, and celebrating my moments, and so on… Creating our own music playlist is always one of the best coping tools and very fun creative tools as well.

Music is communication for the soul. Music expresses emotions on our behalf. Music puts my feelings into the words I cannot seem to formulate.

I like sad songs. I can’t help it, I just do. But you know what I also like? A sad song that has an unbeatable happy production. A sad song with a fast tempo and joyful tone but has heartbreaking lyrics above it. Because sometimes, we need to mask the sadness or else it’s just too sad.
Freya's War Cry
The concept of 'feminine rage' has been floating around for some time, but I feel like it has taken off in recent years, largely due to the wave of self-expression amongst younger women on TikTok. It may seem contradictory, at first; rage, after all, is a human emotion, one step above anger and, I would argue, one below wrath.

5. I just couldn't get through that gut-wrenching pain in my stomach without these songs. That feeling of no matter what you do you will never fit in, or worst, your partner will never get you the way that they should. You may gaslight yourself and say that you may be overthinking, that you may be as crazy as they said you are. but I have proof that you are not. Here is the deal. If someone cares about you and I mean truly cares about you, they will put in the effort. There is no such thing as busy anymore. there is enough time. There are 24 hours in the day for them to do so, 24 hours to love and cherish you. " There are 24 hours in a day" and they chose to lie and gaslight you in those 24 hours.

During my childhood, I was fortunate to be exposed to a wide range of music genres thanks to my family and friends. As a young kid, I found myself drawn to pop music, boy bands, and anything that made it onto the Top 100 charts. However, as my teenage years approached, I began developing a deep appreciation for hard rock, a passion that has stayed with me through the years. Creating a playlist of songs that have profoundly influenced my life is no easy task, but I believe I can narrow it down to seven songs, including the album that played a significant role in inspiring me to finish my first novel. So, without any particular order, let's dive into my top picks.

Introduction I have just finished watching the excellent BBC series "Guilt" with Mark Bonnar which is mostly set in Edinburgh (where I passed through yesterday and have shared a few stories about), but the last three episodes played out with instrumental sequences from some classics by Scottish bands and singers.
Mike Singleton - MikeydredPublished 12 months ago in BeatDear Evan Hansen
Dear Evan Hansen: a musical that follows a anxious and lonely teen as he’s caught up in a lie regarding a false friendship with another student who committed suicide; a musical I relate to on so many levels I find it hard to keep track. For those of you who are familiar with Dear Evan Hansen, I should note that I am aware that relating to Evan Hansen in any way, shape, or form is not a good thing. Dear Evan Hansen is an interesting musical to me because despite how rare it is to find a sense of relation to every song from a musical, I can easily relate to the entire cast recording.

I was a 2003 baby. Which means I grew up on the tiny, square-shaped Apple iPods, cassette tapes that we always pulled the plastic out of, and CDs, although my Mum had more cassette tapes than CDs. Over the years, my music tastes have grown and expanded, from Imagine Dragons and Taylor Swift - to Christian music such as Hillsong, Casting Crowns and Lauren Daigle. I've also listened to older artists like Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra - and even some younger ones such as Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran. And some Disney music in there too.

I have always been surrounded by art, my father is an architect, my mother plays guitar, my sister is a songwriter. I write and paint and take pictures. Art has always and will always be a lifeline, the very beat of my heart, music in particular is something I feel deeply connected to. I grew up on the weekends in tiny Unitarian churches and parks listening to folk music. I even ran my own coffeehouse style concert series when I was in high school. Boiling down the music that has shaped me to something somewhat coherent is a hard ask, I'm going to give it a try though.
The Power of Music: A Journey Through Emotions and Memories
When I listen to music, it’s not just for the sake of listening; it’s to bond deeply with my subconscious. Whatever your reason, music is, at its essence, human, and human is music.

I have written/compiled many song lists for publication on Vocal. I usually put a lot of research into my lists. For some I've done extensive fan polling. On average I spend about two to three weeks putting my song lists together.
