Talk of the Town

I've spent the past eight years of my life chasing a dream around the world of playing professional basketball. A dream that has taken me to all different countries, places, and environments. From Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Vladivostok, Russia, and all kinds of places in between. I was an unlikely candidate to become a professional player, to begin with, at 16 years old, standing five foot, four inches, and less than 100 pounds. But like the beginning stages of any great dream, I always felt like I had a chance.

That belief propelled me thru the challenges I faced, the disappointments, and allowed me to achieve different things along the way. In other moments, I failed terribly. But in this story it is not so important, what was gained or lost, it is about what was transferred, or transformed. See from what I have learned when you go in search of a dream nothing is ever wasted. It didn't go for me exactly like I envisioned, but at some point we learn to release those expectations, and allow life to happen for us. And that's what happened to me this year. I started to find my voice as a creator.

It wasn't planned. It just began to happen. I found myself spending every free minute I could, writing, recording, creating things. And those things became songs, that I'm now going through the process of releasing them. The first single, "Talk of the Town" is out today. It is a theme song, for people preparing for a big test, an important meeting, or a critical game. The theme is confidence. No matter the skill set we acquire or refine, without self-belief, we will crumble on the field, at school, or in the office.

All the lessons learned from playing basketball are transferrable to anything else you want to accomplish in life. So before that big moment, it's important to first dive inside yourself, connect with your breath, calm your body, and mind, fill up with your biggest power and then allow your training, practice, and intuition to take center stage and perform.

When we overthink, we stop ourselves from performing at an optimal level, and we achieve less than we our capable of. I like to turn "Talk of the Town" up loud, and let it run and fill up with confidence, power, and focus on what is important. That was the intention of creating this first track, I hope it can help someone out there do their best on an assignment, send support to someone who needs a boost, or anybody else out there that might connect with the song in there own way.
