Album Art for Blood Of My Enemy

This just came out, but Apple Music, iTunes pre-orders, and others have been able to listen to this album since the night before the release. It’s got many elements from many different genres. The really cool thing about this is that they are still making heavy music for a band who has been in the metal business for almost a decade.

The first single on the album, “Never Alone” has been out for a little over a month with an interesting video to accompany it. The song itself isn’t a typical deathcore song, but a mixture (to me at least) of death metal, black metal, thrash, and metalcore with a touch of the goth garb that was present during the early and mid-2000s. Clean singing from what sounds like the female keyboard player, as well as the man himself, Johnny Plague. It’s a good balance compared to what used to be with multiple drop and blast beats accompanied by deep screams that could wake the dead. iTunes and Apple Music (the services that I use mostly for music) have rated the track “Kings Of Carnage” a solid favorite for many of the fans.

This song is heavy, bouncy, hard to get out of your head greatness for a normal metal track. It’s good for a bike ride or a gym visit. It gets you pumped like songs in the past did like, “Decimate the Weak”, “The Impaler”, “Forged in Fire”, and “Soldiers of Doomsday.” This is a band that holds a special place in the hearts of many people who were a part of this scene in the 2000s, early and late. They have matured as a band and I’m personally glad they are back with full force and a change of pace.

With this type of music, being different can hurt, but also being just as much of the same formula that we all came to love over the years keeps a fan base hungry for more music. These guys have been able to stay sane with their art outside of music. Johnny, the vocalist, has a healthy love for horror. His Instagram shows multiple times that he had an amazing time with this year's Halloween celebration.

This album is really good for many people to sit back and enjoy while at the gym or jamming out in the car on the way to your next adventure. I say this because I have done it. It was a daily listen for days on end. It’s a catchy album with just enough to have you coming back for more.

On top of all of that, I had recently seen the band in a local show. After almost a decade of playing live, they have never sounded better. The vocalist, Johnny Plague, is as humble as most people in the metal community. They were one of the openers of the infamous famous death core outfit Suicide Silence. They had played their historical death-core record "The Cleansing," in retrospect of its 10 year anniversary.

Winds of Plague played a few older songs, as well as some newer ones, and their latest single that is the YouTube link in this post down below. More impressive about this band is that even though they have had many different people in the band, they still bring an unjust amount of energy to every album that they release and that includes this one; this doesn't end at the albums but also with the live shows.

Again, you can buy this album pretty much anywhere music is sold. Best Buy, iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, and many many more.

Hope you enjoy! More to come!

I give this album a 4 out of 5 skulls. 💀💀💀💀
