Xav A. Releases Catchy New Tune 'Old Milk'

Check Out Xav A. New Single and Music Video!

Just a couple weeks ago R&B/Pop artist Xav A. released his fall single and music video "Old Milk." He stated that he hopes one day this song can be in the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. When you hear this song it gives you that back in the day, 80's dance feel. The music video is very retro and almost looks like a fun video game you would play in an arcade or a old system back in the day.

It seems that he is known for dropping singles with videos and they never disappoint! Last year he even released several Christmas cover videos that are very playful yet vocally strong with harmonies and of course Xav A. signature dance moves. We look forward to seeing more great things from this artist! Check out our exclusive interview with him below!

Interviewer: Who is you favorite artist and why?

Xav A.: My favorite artist is Kelis! I know most people know her from her song "Milkshake," but she has such a diverse catalog of music and I want reinvent myself as much as she does.

Your songs are very different in a great way! What inspires your writing?

Thank you! I usually give myself prompts or goals. I'll say to myself, "If there were a song about my current situation, what would it sound like?" And usually asking myself that will make a song appear. Sometimes random catchy licks will stick in my head too until I turn them into something larger.

When creating a music video, do you write the script yourself or hire a team to bring your song to life?

When I make a video, I usually have a concept and then I flesh it out with a co-director. I'll storyboard it and run it by them to make sure that it seems doable and substantial enough to cover the three minutes. It's always a ton of fun!

If you could tour any place in the world where would you go and why?

I would absolutely go to London!! It seems like the perfect music city and I'd love to visit and even live there one day.

Tell our readers one random fact!

I know some people think I have wigs because my hair is so long in my videos but short in my pictures. But it's really just my hair's shrinkage! I can blow it out and have it long, or push it in and have it be short!

Do you plan on releasing an album or EP in the near future?

No album just yet, but I do have plans for another acoustic single--maybe I will record more and then bundle them together as an EP!

Any collaborations in the works we could look forward to?

I have an AMAZING pop-rock 80's song that I've created with this group of producers called TV Players. I'm working on the video now for it! It will be a completely new side of me.

What is one thing you want people to associate with your brand as an artist?

Freedom. I want people to see my videos and feel free to smile and be themselves. It's okay to be different from the norm!

Who is your biggest musical inspiration/ role model?

Right now I would say it's Bruno Mars! I feel like his swagged out retro 24K Magic is really opening the door for me to make the type of retro, fun music that I like.

For our last question, if you could pick any spirit animal what would it be and why?

I don't know if I'd call it my spirit animal exactly, but I have been trying to convince myself that I am fearless and that I am a LION! Haha.
